SOLD – Power in Pain

As women, how often have we heard that “Beauty is Pain and Pain is Beauty?” I recall this mantra as a teenager many years ago, and to this day, am at a loss as to how much women go through to look their best, particularly the painful methods envogue at the present moment.

Ironically, as an adult I’ve endured much physical pain, mostly as a result of becoming a mother, and the… shall we say “joys” of having insides scrambled by two sons determined to win wrestling matches with my internal organs.

Well ripened and embracing my 40’s, my personal challenge is to accept that I don’t necessarily need to buy into denying my age, or the various lotions, potions, suctions, stimulations, ‘implantations’, injections or any other “tions” the beauty industry would have me believe are essential for eternal youth.

Instead, may my abdominal pain, jaw tension and migraines be all the fertile fuel my mind needs to recognise, that if I simply look after myself from within, nourishing my mind, body and soul, that I am not just a tired, overworked, under-appreciated mother doing my best to show up and raise decent human beings for the benefit of society… I am also a freaking Fabulous Female Goddess, just because I choose to be.

And you can too, simply by being your authentic, raw and naturally beautiful self, and loving you just the way you are.
