peacock feathers - styled on table

Must be an animalistic nature vibe going on, as yesterday I shared with you my artwork “Busy Bees = Happy Bees”, and today I feel compelled to share this beautiful lush peacock feathered number. At this stage it’s untitled, but maybe “Strut it” is fitting? Do you have any suggestions?

I’ve always loved peacock feathers, and it takes me back to childhood remembering that my Nanna used to have peacocks and elegantly used their fallen feathers in a beautiful big floral arrangement in the Fancy Bathroom… you know, the one that kids weren’t really supposed to use.

Shamefully and most embarrassingly, I admit peacock feathers adorned my ex-husband’s lapel on the wedding day, and I had artisically laboured for months on table centrepieces that included intricate artwork and you guessed it, peacock feathers too. They looked fabulous at the time, but I now wished I had used evil vultures or dirty old crows feathers instead 🙊😆🤯 It may have been a sign when he “jokingly” suggested that we do our first dance to #dollypartons D.I.V.O.R.C.E song! 🎶

Anyway, the long and short of it, is that I do still love the feathers, but a sadness and sense of loss is somehow reflected in their beauty. Is that naturally the case with beauty, in that it’s all in the eye of the beholder, that it’s more than skin deep, and no amount of Botox or collagen infused miracle cream is going to save us from ourselves? Or is aging gracefully, going to become the new black, and dropping a feather or two all part of the elaborate dance of life?

Hugs and loving vibes to all who need it 🤔💕xo

just making sure you haven't forgotten anything?

If you love this artwork even half as much as Bec loved creating it (and if per chance you haven’t already added it to your personal shopping cart), good news, there is still time…
